Connie

"Being a very logical person I went to school and got Bachelors of Science Degree in Mathematics and in Physics. Then I taught math for nine years and decided I liked math more than having the summers off and became a software engineer in the the aerospace industry.  I developed software for air defense and air traffic control systems.  I also got a Master of Science in Computer Engineering.

"I occasionally explored art: drawing, painting, porcelain doll making and ceramics.
I found I enjoy working with clay -- I never thought I would love to play in the mud!

"Now most of my time is spent with clay.  The field of ceramics is so broad that I have barely touched the surface.  Being a novice is exciting, at times frustrating, but always rewarding.

"I worked in a ceramic studio with four other women, we called ourselves the Mad Mudders and took our 'show' on the road.  We had a 20 foot booth at the Prescott Fine Art & Wine Festival in May for several years and also at the Prescott Summer Fine Art & Crafts Show in August for several years.

"I am still experimenting with different glazes and clay bodies. I will be back at Yavaipai College for classes.

"I am currently active volunteering and working at the gallery at Mountain Artists Guild."
